Rebranding my blog

For the last several months I have been on hiatus with this blog.  I have missed writing, but after spending quite a bit of my time last spring focused on the impact state politics was having on education I needed a break.  I really was not happy with the direction I allowed my posts to go.  Though I think it is important to stay abreast of the political climate and how it relates to our profession, I don't want it to drive my posts.

With that in mind, I intend to relaunch my blogging efforts with a new title.  This one seems to suit the world in which I live.  Maybe you understand what I mean because you are in my position or you are a classroom teacher that feels overwhelmed at times.

This isn't my desk, but it often looks like this.  To anyone coming into my office it appears to be chaos.  I assure you it isn't.  I can usually tell you exactly where everything is.

My newest inspiration for the direction I would like to take with this blog comes from this quote:
"If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?"--Albert Einstein

Organizing the clutter that comes our way will be a renewed interest of mine for these posts.  Yes, education policy counts as clutter, so it will still be a part of the conversation.  There are so many other things that clutter our desks that need to be sorted through as well.

Here is hoping your desk is never empty.
