Change in Focus
When I started this blog my priority was educational technology and helping others implement it in the classroom. I don't want to completely abandon this area, but with new responsibilities and job titles granted to me, I want to adjust my focus. I plan to focus more on the instructional leadership aspect of my new position in this blog. This still will include technology tips and tricks, but there is a broader list of topics I need to address now.
One of the first things I want to cover is our priorities with our students. We all have those students that we know everyone in their life has give up on. As educators, our job is to be the people that never give up. We are the ones that go the extra mile for them. We often don't know what happened to them the night before that may be causing them to act out. Did mom or dad get arrested the night before, or did baby brother have to go the the E.R. last night and no one remember to set the alarm when they got home at three in the morning.
Does everyone else think this kid is worthless? Watch this video for a reminder of the potential every student has, even the ones that some think are zeroes.
